The National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli, commonly referred to as NIT Trichy or NIT Tiruchirappalli, is one of the premier engineering institutions in India. Established in 1964, it is located in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. NIT Tiruchirappalli is recognized for its academic excellence, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and vibrant campus life. NIT Tiruchirappalli was established as Regional Engineering College (REC) Tiruchirappalli in 1964. The institution was jointly operated by the Government of India and the Government of Tamil Nadu. In 2003, REC Tiruchirappalli was granted the status of a Deemed University and was renamed as the National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli.
